About Fronius
Fronius makes solar inverters, home batteries and EV chargers that work as one system. It suits homeowners who want a single brand and one app to watch it all.
Each piece works on its own, and the value grows as you add the next one because they share the same platform.
The Fronius range we install
Fronius Reserva
Fronius GEN24 Plus
Fronius Wattpilot
Which Fronius product do you need?
Start with what you want the system to do:
- If you want solar with a hybrid-ready inverter, start with the GEN24 Plus and add a battery later.
- If you want overnight backup in a blackout, pair the GEN24 Plus with the Reserva battery.
- If you want to charge an EV from your solar, add the Wattpilot to the same Solar.web account.
Warranty and support
To keep your warranty valid, use a licensed installer, register the equipment and run it within its published operating conditions. Keep your commissioning paperwork handy. Claims go through us as your installer, and we lodge them for you.
Monitoring with Solar.web
Solar.web is the Fronius app and web dashboard that shows your solar, household use and battery in one place.

Things to know before you buy
Pros
One app for the whole system. The GEN24 Plus inverter, Reserva battery and Wattpilot charger all report into Solar.web, so you log in once to see everything.
PV Point gives a solar-only outlet in daylight with no battery, and Full Backup keeps selected circuits running overnight when the Reserva battery is fitted.
Start with the inverter, add the rest later. You can install the GEN24 Plus now and add the Reserva battery or Wattpilot charger later without changing your monitoring.
EV charging that talks to your solar. The Wattpilot sits in the same platform as the inverter and battery, so you can schedule charging for surplus solar instead of grid power.
Things to consider
Full Backup is not automatic with any battery. It requires the GEN24 Plus, a Fronius Reserva battery and a backup contactor. Tell us at the quote stage which circuits you want kept alive in a blackout, so we can size and wire it correctly.
PV Point and Full Backup are different things. PV Point gives you a limited solar-only outlet while the sun is shining and needs no battery; Full Backup keeps nominated circuits running overnight from the Reserva. Decide which one you actually need before signing.
Backup wiring is a design choice, not a default. It is easier to plan this at installation than retrofit later.
Monitoring depends on your home internet. Solar.web needs the inverter connected to your Wi-Fi or network to show live data and alerts. If your internet drops out, the system keeps running but the app will not update until it reconnects.
What a Fronius install involves
Site assessment and switchboard check
We visit the property, inspect the existing solar (if any), the switchboard and the proposed locations for the inverter and battery. We check switchboard condition, space and the run to the proposed install point, and flag any upgrade needed.
Compatibility and system design
We confirm whether a new GEN24 Plus is the right hybrid inverter for your home, whether the Reserva battery suits your overnight use, and whether you want the Wattpilot added now or pre-wired for later. We size it to your actual usage, not a generic number.
Backup wiring decision
If you want blackout backup we talk through which circuits should stay live (fridge, a few lights, selected power points) and whether PV Point is enough, or whether you need Full Backup with the Reserva and a backup contactor. This is designed in before install day, not after.
Installation day
The crew mounts the GEN24 Plus in a shaded, ventilated position, installs the Reserva and any backup board, fits isolators and runs the cabling between the array, inverter, battery and switchboard. The Wattpilot is mounted where you want to park and cabled back to the board.
Network approval and commissioning
The install is documented and connected to meet Australian standards and the Western Power network requirements for the Perth metro area, including Synergy’s connection process. Battery commissioning is done to AS/NZS 5139, with charge and discharge settings configured and tested.
Solar.web setup and walkthrough
Before we leave we connect the system to your internet, set up your Solar.web account, and walk you through the app: solar, household use, battery charge, and the Wattpilot if you have one. We cover aftercare tips and answer any questions on the spot.
Fronius questions Perth homeowners ask
What products does Fronius make for home solar?
For a home system Fronius makes the GEN24 Plus hybrid inverter, the Reserva battery and the Wattpilot EV charger. All three are monitored and managed through the one Fronius Solar.web app, so you can start with an inverter and add the battery or the charger later without changing platforms.
Does Fronius make a home battery?
Yes. The Reserva is Fronius’s home battery and it is designed to pair with the GEN24 Plus hybrid inverter. The Reserva is also the battery you need if you want Full Backup during a grid outage, as PV Point gives daytime solar backup only.
What is the Fronius GEN24 Plus?
The GEN24 Plus is Fronius’s hybrid inverter for home use, meaning the one inverter can run your solar panels and, when paired with the Reserva, charge and discharge the battery. It also has the backup function built in: PV Point without a battery, or Full Backup with the Reserva battery and a backup contactor.
How do I monitor my Fronius system?
Through the Fronius Solar.web app, which shows solar generation, household use and battery charge in one place. If you have the Wattpilot EV charger as well, it appears in the same app, so the inverter, battery and charger are all managed from one login. We set this up on the day and walk you through it before we leave.
