About Sigenergy
Sigenergy is a sound brand for a Perth home if you want a single-vendor setup covering solar, battery, backup and EV charging, backed by a long warranty with clear conditions. Its Australian importer is Sigenergy Australia Pty Ltd, and the residential range in Australia centres on the SigenStor battery system, the Sigen Hybrid Inverter, the Home Energy Gateway, Sigen AC and SigenStor DC EV chargers, SigenMicro microinverters, and the mySigen app.
The brand suits households that want expandability (adding battery capacity later), detailed in-app monitoring, and the option of blackout backup on selected circuits. It is less suited to buyers who want a set-and-forget system with no internet connection, because the warranty leans on the system staying online.
The Sigenergy products we install each have their own guide: SigenStor, Sigen Hybrid Inverter, Home Energy Gateway, Sigenergy EV Charger. Our Battery Storage page explains how we approach the installation.
The Sigenergy range we install

SigenStor
A SigenStor is a stackable battery system: one Energy Controller on top, with one to six battery modules underneath. Published installed prices run from roughly $11,500 for about 10 kWh of usable storage to around $21,000 for about 23 kWh, before rebates. The WA rebate and the federal discount then take a meaningful amount off. The right size comes down to how much power your home uses after dark and whether you want it to keep running in a blackout. This page walks you through both, plus the warranty conditions most buyers miss.

Sigen Hybrid Inverter
If your home is on single phase, choose an SP2 inverter (3.0 to 6.0 kW); if it's on three phase, choose a TP2 (5.0 to 12.0 kW), then size the model to your solar array: a 5.0 SP2 takes up to 10,000 W of panels and outputs 4,999 W, while a 10.0 TP2 takes 20,000 W and outputs 9,999 W.
Blackout backup is instant (0 ms switchover) but needs the Sigen Energy Gateway and a Sigen Battery alongside the inverter; a battery can be added later through the SigenStor BC controller, and the 10-year warranty stays valid as long as the inverter stays connected to the internet.
Use the sections below to settle the phase and size, decide whether to fit the battery now or later, and understand the backup and warranty conditions before you sign.

Home Energy Gateway
The Sigen Energy Gateway is the switching box that detects a grid outage and transfers your home to battery power with 0 ms load-side disruption, in either whole-house or smart prioritised backup mode. Which version you need comes down to your supply and system size: Home SP for single-phase homes up to 12 kW of inverter power and 2 SigenStors, HomePro SP-F for single-phase homes up to 22 kW and 3 SigenStors, and Home TP for three-phase homes up to 30 kW and 2 SigenStors.
The sections below help you choose the right model, decide between whole-home and essential-circuits backup, and understand what the install involves.

Sigenergy EV Charger
Sigenergy makes two very different EV chargers: a wall-mounted AC unit in 7, 11 and 22 kW versions, and a 25 kW DC module that integrates with the SigenStor battery system. Which one suits your home comes down to your electrical supply (single phase or three phase), how quickly you want to charge, and whether you want the car to feed power back to the home. This page explains the differences, how solar-surplus charging works, what the install involves, and the warranty terms you should know before you buy.
Which Sigenergy product do you need?
Use these pointers to narrow it down:
- If you want battery storage with blackout backup and room to expand later, start with the SigenStor battery.
- If you are replacing an old string inverter or starting a new solar-plus-battery system, pair the SigenStor with the Sigen Hybrid Inverter, which comes in single-phase and three-phase versions.
- If you want whole-home energy management, smart-load control and solar export limits, add the Home Energy Gateway.
- If you have, or are planning, an EV, add the Sigenergy EV charger so the car can be scheduled to charge from solar through the mySigen app.
Warranty and support in plain terms
The SigenStor battery and energy controller carry a 10-year warranty, the Sigen Hybrid Inverter (SP, SP2, TP and TP2 Australian models) also 10 years, the Home Energy Gateway 2 years, the Sigen AC EV Charger 3 years, and the SigenStor DC EV charging module 3 years. The performance guarantee is that the battery retains at least 70% of its usable energy over 10 years. You can buy extended cover, but it must be purchased and activated within 12 months of installation, and the total cover cannot exceed 15 years.
To keep the warranty valid, the product must be installed by a skilled and trained installer, registered on site at activation, and kept connected to the internet; if the system stays offline for over a year, the cover drops to 5 years from the original activation date. Claims must be lodged within 30 days of the failure date, through your installer or Sigenergy’s Australian service line on +61 489 080 832 and [email protected]. Repairs by anyone other than authorised personnel will void cover. Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law apply in addition to the manufacturer’s warranty.
mySigen app and monitoring
It shows an energy flow (sankey) diagram, 3D visualisation and transparent explanations of what the system is doing, from solar panels and batteries through to smart home devices and third-party equipment. The AI tools include an assistant, AI mode, search, insight, forecast and peak shaving, and granular EMS settings let your installer tune charge and discharge behaviour. Smart loads can be integrated through Shelly devices and the Sigen gateway, so appliances like pool pumps or hot-water timers run when solar is cheap.
That is one reason we set up the app with you at commissioning and show you how to read it before we leave the job.
Things to know before you buy
Pros
Modular SigenStor battery you can expand as your household’s needs grow
Blackout protection when the installation is wired for backup
Detailed monitoring in the mySigen app, including energy flow diagrams and AI forecasting
10-year warranty on the battery, energy controller and hybrid inverter, with an extended-warranty option
Things to consider
There is a recorded recall on some single-phase energy controllers. The ACCC voluntary recall covers Sigenergy single-phase 8, 10 and 12 kW energy controllers with quick-connect AC plugs; the remedy is a free replacement, a firmware update and an additional 2-year warranty. If you have an affected unit, contact the installer or Sigenergy’s Australian service line on +61 489 080 832. Quality of installation also matters for any battery system, which is why we commission to AS/NZS 5139 and document the job for network approval.
The warranty expects the system to stay online. If the system is disconnected from the internet for over a year, the warranty adjusts to 5 years from the original activation date. Keep the Wi-Fi credentials current, replace your router without leaving the inverter stranded, and let us know if your internet changes.
Claims have a tight 30-day window. You must lodge any warranty claim within 30 days of the failure date, via the installer or Sigenergy’s national office. The mySigen app’s support menu is the suggested path, so set up the app at commissioning rather than later.
Choose an installer who has done Sigenergy before and insist on commissioning to AS/NZS 5139.
Local Australian presence beyond the importer is limited. Sigenergy publishes an Australian service email and phone line, but does not publish office or staffing numbers for its Australian operation. For day-to-day issues, your installer is your first point of contact.
What installation involves
On-site assessment
Before anything is booked we visit the property, inspect the existing solar system and talk through how your household uses power so we can size the Sigenergy setup properly and tell you which parts you actually need.
Switchboard and compatibility check
We check the switchboard’s condition, available space and distance to the proposed location, and whether your existing inverter can work with a SigenStor battery directly or whether a Sigen Hybrid Inverter is the better path.
Backup wiring decision
A battery only supplies power during a blackout if it is wired for backup. We walk you through which circuits (for example the fridge, lights or a power point for a modem) would stay on, so you can choose essential-circuits backup or leave the system grid-tied only.
Installation day
Our technicians mount the inverter and battery in a shaded, ventilated position, install isolators, route the cabling between the array, the inverter, the battery and the switchboard, and tidy the work before testing.
Network approval and commissioning
The installation is documented and connected to meet Australian standards and the Western Power network requirements for the Perth metropolitan area, with Synergy as the retailer. Commissioning for the battery is done to AS/NZS 5139.
mySigen app set-up and walkthrough
Before leaving, we register the system, connect it to your Wi-Fi, set up the mySigen app with you, and show you how to read battery charge, solar generation and household usage, plus the support menu you would use for any warranty claim.
Sigenergy questions Perth homeowners ask
Who is Sigenergy?
Sigenergy is a home-energy brand whose Australian importer is Sigenergy Australia Pty Ltd. Its residential range covers the SigenStor battery system, the Sigen Hybrid Inverter, a Home Energy Gateway, AC and DC EV chargers, and the mySigen app.
Is a Sigenergy battery any good?
SigenStor is modular and expandable, carries a 10-year warranty on the battery and energy controller, and includes blackout protection when wired for backup.
What is the cycle life of the Sigenergy battery?
The published performance guarantee is that SigenStor retains at least 70% of its usable energy for 10 years under the warranty terms. The manufacturer does not publish a separate cycle count figure for the battery.
Is it better to have more solar panels or a bigger battery?
It depends on your usage pattern. If you already export a lot of unused solar during the day, a bigger battery captures that energy for the evening; if your daytime generation barely covers daytime loads, more panels usually come first. The mySigen app’s monitoring and AI forecast make this easier to judge after a few weeks of data.
What is the lifespan of a Sigenergy battery?
The warranted lifespan is 10 years with a 70% usable-energy retention guarantee. You can extend total cover up to a maximum of 15 years if an extended warranty is purchased and activated within 12 months of installation.
